How to Choose a Digital Marketing Agency in Fresno
Hiring a digital marketing agency in Fresno? The questions to ask first: who does the work, what it costs, what the report shows and what the contract says.
Short answer: The best digital marketing agency in Fresno for you is one that passes five checks. It tells you who does the work, publishes its prices, reports on calls and leads, builds its own website well and knows the local market. Read the contract too, and be careful with anyone who promises rankings.
Do you need an advertising agency or a digital marketing agency?
People search for both, and the two overlap. An advertising agency has traditionally made and placed ads: TV, radio, print and billboards. A digital marketing agency usually runs what people find online: your website, your Google Business Profile, search, social media and paid ads.
Many local businesses need some of both. Someone sees your name around town, then looks you up on their phone. If your website is slow or your Google profile is empty, the ad got their attention and the follow-up let them down.
We work on both sides. We build and run your website, Google Business Profile and social media. We also put your brand on indoor digital billboards in local venues across Fresno and Clovis. Those screens point people back to your site. The full list is on our services page.
Who will actually do the work?
Ask this first. Some agencies sell you the plan, then hand the work to freelancers or outside vendors and add a markup. You may never meet the person writing your posts or building your site.
Ask who builds the website, who writes the posts, who runs the ads and who you call when something breaks. Ask if any of it goes to another company. A good agency can answer with names.
We build your marketing ourselves, start to finish. AI handles the repetitive work, and real people own the strategy and answer for the results. We tell you where we use AI and what people still check. You can read more about how we work on our about page.
Does the agency know Fresno?
Fresno runs on trust. People call the business a neighbor mentioned, or the one they have seen around town for months. An agency from out of town can still do good work, but it has to learn that first.
Ask what the agency knows about your neighborhoods, your busy season and your local competitors. For home services, the summer heat brings a rush of AC and pool calls. The cooler months are when you build your name before the next rush.
We are a digital marketing agency in Fresno, based in the Valley, and Fresno is our main market. Our Fresno page explains how we work here, and our Clovis page covers Clovis.
Can you see the price before the sales call?
Many agencies won’t share a number until you book a call. Some set the price after they size up your business. That makes it hard to compare one agency with another.
A better sign is a price list you can read on your own time. You should be able to see what each plan includes, what setup costs and what is extra. Also ask how ad management is billed. Some agencies take a percentage of your ad spend, so their fee climbs as you spend more.
We publish the price of every tier, and what you pay never depends on what we think you can afford. Our managed tiers are Foundation at $1,000/mo, Growth at $2,000/mo and Domination at $4,000/mo. Domination is waitlist-only for now. We charge a flat rate to manage ads, not a cut of your spend. Every tier and add-on is on our pricing page. Does the agency’s own website pass the test?
An agency that builds websites should have a fast one, and you can check it in a minute. Put the agency’s homepage into Google’s PageSpeed Insights at pagespeed.web.dev and look at the mobile score.
In July 2026 we tested the homepages of 7 Fresno marketing and web design agencies, ours included. We used Google Lighthouse with the same settings for each. Our site scored 98 for performance, and the middle score of the group was 63. The method and results are in our Fresno Agency Website Benchmark. We kept the other agencies anonymous.
A speed score doesn’t prove an agency can get you rankings, reviews or customers. It does show whether the agency builds to the standard it sells.
What should the monthly report show?
Some reports are full of “impressions” and “reach.” Those numbers can look busy and still say little about your business.
Ask to see a sample report before you sign. Look for the things that pay your bills: calls, form fills, booked jobs and where each one came from. It should be in plain words, and someone should walk you through it when you have questions.
We report calls, leads and appointments in plain language every month. If we can’t tie our work to real activity in your business, we don’t think we should take your money.
What if an agency promises results?
Be careful. No agency controls where Google or ChatGPT puts your business. Results depend on your offer, your team, your market and plenty of things outside anyone’s control. If someone promises you the top spot on Google or a set number of new customers, ask them how.
A better promise is about the work: what gets done each month, how it gets reported and who you can call. We don’t promise rankings or revenue. What we aim for is clear communication, honest reporting and showing up every month for the term we agreed on.
What should the contract say?
Read the terms before you sign. Ask how long the term is, whether month-to-month is an option and what a longer term gets you. Ask what happens if you leave early. Then ask who owns the website, the domain and your Google Business Profile.
Our terms are on our pricing page. A 12-month commitment waives the setup fee and includes a website of up to 7 pages. If your site already passes our check, you get the same value in SEO work instead. Month-to-month is also an option. If you leave a 12-month term early, the remaining months are still owed. When the term is done, the website code is yours, and your domain is always yours. On Google Business Profile and other major listings, we ask to be added as a manager where the platform allows it. Your business stays the owner.
What is a good first step?
Pick two or three agencies. Ask each one the same questions: who does the work, what it costs, what the report shows, how fast its own site is and what the contract says. Write the answers side by side.
Then ask each one to look at your business before you commit. Ours starts with a Free Site Check. We check your website and your Google Business Profile, then email you a plain-English report in about 48 hours. You can use it to fix things yourself or to hire someone else. If you’d rather talk first, get in touch.
