Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Shockwave Digital Advertising ("Shockwave," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our website at shockwave-advertising.com, our marketing services, and our bookkeeping and financial-reporting services (including the "Shockwave Bookkeeping" application that integrates with QuickBooks Online). By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Shockwave Digital Advertising is a marketing agency based in Friant, California, serving Fresno, Clovis, and the greater Central Valley. We provide websites, advertising, indoor digital billboard placement, and managed marketing services, as well as bookkeeping and financial-reporting services for our clients.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Contact and inquiry details you submit through our forms — such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, and message.
  • Onboarding and account information needed to deliver our services, including business details and the credentials or authorizations you grant us to manage connected platforms on your behalf.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data — such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions — collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • We use analytics and measurement tools including Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel, and PostHog to understand site usage and improve our services.

Financial data from QuickBooks Online (Intuit)

For clients who use our bookkeeping and financial-reporting services, we access data from QuickBooks Online through Intuit's API — only after you explicitly authorize the connection via Intuit's secure authorization (OAuth) flow. See Section 4 for full details on how this data is handled.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, and improve our website and services.
  • To respond to inquiries, schedule consultations, and communicate with you about your account and services.
  • To deliver bookkeeping, reconciliation, and financial-reporting services to clients who have engaged us for them.
  • To analyze usage and improve performance, content, and user experience.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, our clients, and our users.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. QuickBooks Online / Intuit data

Our bookkeeping services integrate with QuickBooks Online. This section describes exactly how we access, use, store, and share that data.

  • Authorization. We access your QuickBooks data only after you connect your account and grant access through Intuit's official authorization flow. You may revoke that access at any time (see below).
  • What we access. Depending on the services you engage us for, this may include accounting records such as invoices, bills, expenses, payments, customers, vendors, items, the chart of accounts, and financial reports.
  • How we use it. We use QuickBooks data solely to provide the bookkeeping, reconciliation, and reporting services you have requested. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
  • Storage and security. Where we store QuickBooks data, we protect it with access controls and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, and limit access to personnel who need it to deliver your services.
  • Revoking access and deletion. You can disconnect the integration at any time from within QuickBooks Online, or by contacting us. Once access is revoked, we stop accessing your QuickBooks data and will delete or return stored copies in accordance with our retention practices and any agreement with you, except where retention is required by law.
  • Intuit's role. Your use of QuickBooks is also governed by Intuit's own terms and privacy policy. Shockwave is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Intuit Inc.

5. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run our business and deliver our services:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf — for example, Intuit (QuickBooks), analytics providers (Google, Microsoft, Meta), our CRM and communications platform (GoHighLevel), and hosting and content-delivery providers.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Shockwave, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and (where applicable) advertising measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect site functionality. Our analytics and pixel providers may set their own cookies, governed by their respective policies.

7. Data retention

We retain personal and financial information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

10. Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-party links

Our website may link to third-party sites and services we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites; please review their privacy policies.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be made reasonably prominent where appropriate.
